Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some answers to the questions Tamra receives the most.
If we missed anything, please do not hesitate to contact Tamra.
What do services look like?
You will enter the main lobby, and fill out an intake form upon arrival (or online, prior to arrival). Tamra will go over the intake form with you, asking clarifying questions and expectations.
Then, Tamra will escort you into the treatment/massage room, instruct you to undress to your comfort level – and based on your needs – will direct you to lay face up or face down on the massage table. Tamra will then step out of the room, giving time for you to get comfortable, and knock before re-entry making sure you are ready to begin.
Treatment generally starts with you face down, working on the back. The massage will then move to one side and work around the body with 20-30 min in a face down position and then 30-40 min in a face up position. For 90 min massages, timing is adapted.
Throughout the massage, Tamra will check in with you for pressure and temperature – making sure you are comfortable.
Upon conclusion of treatment, Tamra will gently come back up to your head and let you know we are finished or ask if there is anything they need her to revisit.
Tamra will let you know before she exits the room. When you are dressed and ready, simply open the treatment door.
Should I drink water before the massage?
Maintaining hydration is important. Tamra would not recommend drinking large amounts of water before a massage (but there is a robe available for a run to the bathroom, which is in suite, if needed).
Drinking water is most important after a massage to flush any toxins that may have been released during the massage, making both the lymphatic and circulatory systems more effective.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes are best, if possible. Some clients come in work clothes and bring a second set of more comfortable clothes to change into after the massage.
Ultimately, this is personal preference. Tamra generally recommends clothing that is “easy on- easy off.”
How long does the massage last?
Your massage is for table time – in increments of 30/60/90 minutes on the table. Time for transition between clients is calculated when scheduling is done.
Do I have to remove all my clothes?
No, you do not have to remove all of your cloths. This is based on your comfort.
If you have experienced trauma with your body or have body issues from past experiences, Tamra will do her best to help ease your fears and work within your comfort level.
I'm nervous, what should I do?
What helps the massage therapist is knowing what fears you have. Mentioning fears – no matter how trivial you may think they are – is important.
Each client is worthy of care and treatment. Please mention concerns.
What is the best way to cancel an appointment?
Please text or call at least 24 hours prior to your appointment: (602) 989-0003
When is it not okay to get a massage?
You should not get a massage when you are sick, running a fever, under the influence, or have a medical condition that prohibits massage. Also, do not come if you have infections such as staph.
Are there medical conditions where massage should be avoided?
Massage should be avoided if you have fever, systemic infections, swelling, phlebitis, and much more. Please consult a doctor if you are unsure if a massage is okay, given a medical condition you have.
Please be thorough when filling out the intake form.
What should I do after my massage?
When the massage has ended, do not rush off the massage table. Hydration after a massage is important to flush toxins released during therapy.
Light to moderate activity is advised. Don’t go for a run, but do walk the dog. Don’t go straight to bed. Alcohol is not recommended.
How can I make the effects of my massage last longer?
Drink water, stretch, eat clean foods, and drink more water.
Avoid coffee, alcohol, and smoking.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
Prior to your first appointment, please fill out a brief intake form to be reviewed with Tamra.

Falling asleep is perfectly acceptable! Many people relax enough to doze during a massage.
What if I have experienced trauma and am still triggered by touch, should I share this?
Please do share this. Details are not necessary. Tamra simply needs to know what areas of your body trigger trauma for you and if those areas need to be avoided completely.
