Why do Cupping?
How does it help?
Cupping therapy is used to treat restrictions in body tissues in specific areas of the body.
The Process
Cupping is not generally full body but is integrated into a massage.
Tamra’s practice involves cupping with either silicone or plastic cups. All equipment is sanitized.
Tamra utilizes two types of cupping methods. She uses Stationary cupping, where the cup is placed, the pressure is adjusted and then left there for 2-10 minutes. When she uses Active cupping, the cups glide over surface of the skin. In both methods, skin is pulled inside cup to lift connective tissue from underlying bone. The suction is sometimes strong enough to create bruising that may last for several days.
After Cupping Therapy
It is recommended that you drink plenty of water after cupping, to help your body continue to flush toxins. Recommended that a cold shower follows, dry brushing to reduce bruising.
