Why get a Lymphatic Massage?
How does it help?
A Lymphatic drainage massage can benefit people with lymphedema, fibromyalgia, and chronic swelling and especially if you have had lymph nodes removed.
This massage helps your waste management system become more efficient, and will also help your body to accept nutrients it needs.
This massage is often used to help with hormone imbalances. Lymphatic massage helps people get better sleep, decrease digestive issues and reduce swelling.
A few things to note:
People should not have a lymphatic massage if they have congestive heart failure, blood clots, kidney problems, or infections.
If you have any medical conditions, please consult your doctor before receiving a lymphatic massage.
The Process
Lymphatic massages use very light pressure, gentle, rhythmic strokes and soft pumping movements in the direction of the lymph nodes.
Lymphatic drainage may temporarily leave you feeling exhausted and needing to use the restroom.
A Lymphatic massage can be completed in either 60 or 90 minute service duration.
After the Massage
It is recommended that you drink plenty of water after a lymphatic massage, to help your body continue to flush toxins. Please also abstain from coffee or alcohol after your massage.
When you are ready to eat after your massage, consider eating a lighter meal and substitute heavier meats with vegetables.
