Why get a Postnatal Massage?
How does it help?
A postnatal massage is for those that have delivered a baby within the last 12 weeks.
To help the mom get back to pre-pregnancy state.
Many mothers find that a postnatal massage will help reduce swelling. Massaging will help redistribute water within the body and encourage the draining of excess fluids.
Many women also find that it helps improve lactation. It is a great way to increase circulation and the necessary hormones to produce more milk.
It may also help reduce anxiety and depression often felt within the first 12 weeks of motherhood. Decreasing stress contributing to anxious and depressed thoughts can help a mother greatly. It may also help her get better sleep.
A few things to note:
Many women enjoy a postnatal massage as soon as a few days after delivery.
If you had complications, blood colts, or a C-section, please consult with your doctor before receiving a massage.
The Process
For your postpartum massage, Tamra will provide a relaxing environment.
While a postpartum massage is typically a full body massage, Tamra might integrate acupressure or stretching into your massage.
Tamra will check in with you especially as the massage begins to ensure that your preferred pressure is being applied.
A postnatal massage can be completed in either 60 or 90 minute service durations.
After the Massage
It is recommended that you drink plenty of water after a postpartum massage, to help your body continue to flush toxins. Please also abstain from coffee or alcohol after your massage.
When you are ready to eat after your massage, consider eating a lighter meal and substitute heavier meats with vegetables.
