How does it help?
Relaxation or Swedish is a massage with long, flowing strokes intended to relax the body with great benefits such as lower blood pressure, increase circulation, improve posture and strengthen the body’s immune system responses. Reduce anxiety, improve quality of sleep and lower nervous system tension. Swedish massage has been shown in various studies to help reduce blood pressure, reduce stress, and reduce waste build up in muscles.
Massage may also increase oxygen in your blood, increase circulation, and help you get a more restful sleep.
Swedish massage often reduces muscle aches and pains and reduces symptoms of various chronic conditions.
The Process
Swedish or relaxation massage is for the top layer of muscles. Because it does not penetrate deeply, pressure is lighter than deep tissue massage.
This is a fully body massage. Tamra will check in with you especially as the massage begins to ensure that your preferred pressure is being applied.
Stretching may be applied to your relaxation massage.
Swedish or relaxation massage can be completed in either 60 or 90 minute service durations.
After the Massage
It is recommended that you drink plenty of water after a relaxation massage, to help your body continue to flush toxins. Please also abstain from coffee or alcohol after your massage.
When you are ready to eat after your massage, consider eating a lighter meal and substitute heavier meats with vegetables.
